Licensing Policy
The PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity can be used in the Editor or at Runtime (in a built standalone application).
Two different licensing policies applies depending in which mode the plugin is used.
Unity Editor License
This is the classic way of using the PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity.
Licenses (paid or trial) acquired from the PiXYZ website starting from 2020 are all licenses for use only in the Unity Editor.
Such licenses cover the following usecases :
- Importing models of any supported format by the plugin through the dedicated menus, which are :
- Importing from the menu bar : PiXYZ > Import Model
- Importing by placing the 3D model in the Asset folder
- Importing .pxz files through the plugin API (with C# scripting)
This enables ultra fast workflows using the Unity Editor as endpoint, to create prefabs, asset bundles, or builds.
Unity Runtime License
The PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity can also be used to import .pxz files in an application built with Unity.
