1 - ABOUT PiXYZ PRODUCTS
1.1 What is PiXYZ Software?

PiXYZ Software is the commercial name of the company selling the software solutions PiXYZ REVIEW, PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity, PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unreal Engine, PiXYZ STUDIO and PiXYZ PIPELINE, showcased on the website www.pixyz-software.com.
PiXYZ Software solutions are edited by Metaverse Technologies France. PiXYZ Software and PiXYZ logos are all trademarks of Metaverse Technologies France.

1.2 What is PiXYZ PLUGIN?

PiXYZ PLUGIN is a plugin meant to easily import almost any CAD model into game engines, to create new experiences (see the PiXYZ PLUGIN product page for more information). PiXYZ PLUGIN is available in two distinct versions:

- PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unreal Engine is a plugin meant to be installed in the game engine Unreal Engine edited by Epic Games, and compatible with 4.12 to 4.15 versions.
- PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity is a plugin meant to be installed in the game engine Unity3D, edited by Unity Technologies, and compatible with 5.5 to 5.6.0f3 versions.

1.3 Can I use PiXYZ PLUGIN at run-time or in batch mode processing?

According to PiXYZ Software’s user and licensing terms and conditions, PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity and PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unreal Engine can only be used to manually import 3D model files via the graphical user interface of the Unity 3D editor or the Unreal Engine editor. PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity or PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unreal Engine import feature cannot be used in the final built application at run-time.
Also, import feature of 3D models in batch mode processing is prohibited via PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity or PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unreal Engine, and is reserved to the product PiXYZ PIPELINE

1.4 What is PiXYZ REVIEW?

PiXYZ REVIEW is a software meant to visualize and interact with large CAD files: quick, easy & high performance. Drag and drop almost any CAD model in PiXYZ REVIEW and instantly interact with them, also in VR (see the PiXYZ REVIEW product page for more information).

1.5 What is PiXYZ STUDIO?

PiXYZ STUDIO is a software meant to interactively treat & optimize CAD data (see the PiXYZ STUDIO product page for more information).

1.6 What is PiXYZ STUDIO Editor?

PiXYZ STUDIO Editor is special STUDIO version with additional Python scripting feature (with embedded scripting editor window). Scripting allows you to create and save your own automatized process (except Import/Export functions: no batch processing).

2 - SOFTWARE PURCHASE, INSTALLATION & ACTIVATION
2.1 How can I purchase PiXYZ solutions?

PiXYZ REVIEW and PiXYZ PLUGIN can be directly purchased on the online Store available on www.pixyz-software.com.

PiXYZ STUDIO and PiXYZ PIPELINE are not for sale on the online store. Please contact us at contact@pi.xyz if you are interested in purchasing any of these solutions.

2.2 Where can I find an invoice for my purchase?

The invoice from a purchase you made on www.pixyz-software.com is available in the ORDERS tab of your account. It is also sent to you by email at the end of the purchase process.

2.3 How long does a license for PiXYZ PLUGIN last?

A license for PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity or PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unreal Engine is sold for a perpetual usage, meaning you can enjoy it forever.
This perpetual license includes minor software updates of a major version (for example, if the current version is version 1, you will enjoy all minor updates until the last version before version 2.0).

2.4 What is the difference between the Indie license and the Pro license for PiXYZ PLUGIN?

We provide a pricing for PiXYZ PLUGIN based on companies’ business revenue. Companies with business revenue under 100 000€ per year can purchase the Indie license of the PLUGIN. Companies with business revenue above 100 000€ per year have to purchase the Pro license of the PLUGIN.
Both licenses give access to the same version of PiXYZ PLUGIN, without restriction (same features, same minor updates of a major version).

2.5 Your business revenue just turned above 100 000€?

This is good news! We are happy your business is growing. Next fiscal year, you may contribute to PiXYZ Software’s success by choosing a Pro license for your next PiXYZ PLUGIN purchase (for a new seat or for the next release), it would help us a lot! Thank you.

2.6 How long does a license for PiXYZ REVIEW last?

A license for PiXYZ REVIEW is based on a yearly subscription (rental). To continue using PiXYZ REVIEW longer than one year, you will have to renew the current license subscription or purchase another license on the Store.
During the license validity, you will have access to all software updates (major and minor versions).

2.7 How long does a license for PiXYZ STUDIO or PiXYZ STUDIO Editor last?

PiXYZ STUDIO and PiXYZ STUDIO Editor are not yet available for purchase on www.pixyz-software.com, please contact us at contact@pi.xyz for more information.

2.8 How do I install PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity on my computer?

To install PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity (once you purchased your license), please follow this procedure:

1) Go to the MY DOWNLOADS tab in your account (or to the DOWNLOAD page of the website).
2) There you will find a Unity package, download it.
3) Go to the computer on which you wish to install PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity, and run Unity with administrator rights.
4) Go to the Asset menu, choose Import package / Custom package… and select the package you downloaded.
5) Once the installation is over, there will be a new PiXYZ menu available.
6) Activate your license (see Question 2.13).
7) To start using PiXYZ, go to menu PiXYZ / Import CAD and select settings to import CAD models in Unity.

2.9 How do I install PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unreal Engine on my computer?

To install PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unreal Engine (once you purchased your license), please follow this procedure:

1) Go to the MY DOWNLOADS tab in your account (or to the DOWNLOAD page of the website).
2) There you will find an installation executable (*.exe), download it.
3) Go to the computer on which you wish to install PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unreal Engine, and run the installation executable with administrator rights.
4) Once the installation is over, open Unreal Engine. There is a new PiXYZ menu available.
5) Activate your license (see Question 2.13).
6) To start using PiXYZ, just click the “Import” button and you will see all the new formats available for importing CAD models in Unreal Engine.

2.10 How do I install PiXYZ REVIEW on my computer?

To install PiXYZ REVIEW (once you purchased your license), please follow this procedure:

1) Go to the MY DOWNLOADS tab in your account (or to the DOWNLOAD page of the website).
2) There you will find an installation executable (*.exe), download it.
3) Go to the computer on which you wish to install PiXYZ REVIEW, and run the installation executable with administrator rights.
4) Activate your license (see Question 2.13).
5) Start enjoying PiXYZ REVIEW!

2.11 How do I install PiXYZ STUDIO on my computer?

PiXYZ STUDIO and PiXYZ STUDIO Editor are not yet available for purchase on www.pixyz-software.com, please contact us at contact@pi.xyz for more information.

2.12 Do I need a different installation executable for PiXYZ STUDIO Editor?

No, you have to use the same installation procedure described in the previous question. The special Scripting feature available in PiXYZ STUDIO Editor is included in the license.

2.13 How do I activate a purchased license for a PiXYZ product?

In your user account on www.pixyz-software.com, in the LICENSE MANAGEMENT tab are explained the two possible modes to activate the license you just purchased: Online mode or Offline mode. Please follow one of the procedures to proceed with license activation, or watch our installation videos on our Youtube channel (coming soon).

1) Online mode: your computer is connected to internet.

1) Run your new PiXYZ product with administrator rights.
2) Directly go to the PiXYZ or Help (?) menu and choose License manager.
3) In the Online activation tab, enter your login and password (the same you used to create your account on the website).
4) The license you purchased is available, click on the Install button.
5) You might be asked to run an installation executable, click Yes.
6) And that's it! You can enjoy your new PiXYZ product.

2) Offline mode: your computer is not connected to internet (for example your company blocks internet connection on your computer).

1) Run your new PiXYZ product with administrator rights.
2) Directly go to the PiXYZ or Help menu and choose License manager.
3) In the Offline activation tab, select "Generate activation code".
4) Save an Activation code (as a *.bin file).
5) Copy the Activation file (*.bin file), go to a computer with internet connection and connect to your account on www.pixyz-software.com.
6) Go to the LICENSE MANAGEMENT tab and to the row of your new license.
7) Click on the "Request" button and follow the procedure to upload the Activation code (*.bin file) you just saved on your computer.
8) Once the procedure is over, your new valid license will be automatically downloaded. If not, click on the Download button in the row of your new license (column License activation).
9) Save your new license.bin file and go back to your computer on which you installed your new PiXYZ product.
10) Go the PiXYZ or Help menu and choose License manager.
11) In the Offline tab, select "Install license" and browse to the license.bin file you downloaded on the website.
12) Click on activate.
13) You might be asked to run an installation executable, click yes.
14) And that's it! You can enjoy your new PiXYZ product.

2.14 I have no internet connection, how can I activate my license?

If you have no internet connection (for example your company blocks internet connection on your computer), please refer to the previous question and follow the Offline mode for activating your license.

2.15 Why can’t I connect to my user account in my PiXYZ product?

If you cannot connect to your user account from your PiXYZ product, please check the following things:

1) Your username and password are correct.
2) Your internet connection is correctly working.
3) Check the configuration of your firewall. Indeed, the license activation process needs the PiXYZ application to communicate with PiXYZ Software server. Sometimes a firewall blocks applications: you need to turn it off during license activation, or create a rule to unblock PiXYZ application.

2.16 How can I manage my licenses?

When connected to your user account on www.pixyz-software.com, go to the LICENSE MANAGEMENT tab. Here are listed all the licenses you purchased (and possibly trial licenses) in the Licenses Table. Each row corresponds to one license. From here you can do several things:

- Check a license state (Available or Used).
- Activate a license by clicking the “Request” button (if not Used).
- Check if a license is still active and the number of remaining days.
- Check on which computer a license is installed.
- Add a description to a license (by clicking on “Click to edit” in the License description column).
- Renew a license (in the case of a yearly subscription for PiXYZ REVIEW or PiXYZ STUDIO).

2.17 Can I install a PiXYZ product for all the users on my computer?

Once a PiXYZ product is installed on your computer, all users can enjoy it.

2.18 How can I renew my license of PiXYZ REVIEW?

A license for PiXYZ REVIEW is purchased for one year (rental), and is not automatically renewed (we do not store credit card information).
To renew a license, simply connect to your account, go to the LICENSE MANAGEMENT tab. In the Licenses Table, in the row of the license you wish to renew, you will find a “Renew” button. If you click on it, it will automatically add a Renewal for this license in the Cart of the Store. At the end of the purchasing process, the license duration will be extended for one more year (additionally to the current remaining days).
You can renew a license even after its end of validity. Just remember that the renewed license will be bound to the same computer on which the previous license was installed on.

2.19 I accidentally erased my hard drive, what can I do?

After re-installing your PiXYZ product, you can either connect to your account from the application (Online mode), or download your license again from the LICENSE MANAGEMENT tab of your account (Offline mode: simply click on the “Download” button, please refer to Question 2.13 for more information).
If your computer ID has not changed, you will be able to install this license again through the License manager and continue enjoying PiXYZ.

2.20 What is the configuration recommended to use PiXYZ solutions?

The recommended configuration is:

PROCESSOR: INTEL CORE I7 3GHZ OR MORE
RAM: 32GB OR MORE
GRAPHICS HARDWARE: NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX780 OR MORE, QUADRO K4000 OR MORE
DISK SPACE: 1GO OR MORE (WITH DYNAMIC SWAP)
OPERATING SYSTEM: WINDOWS 7, 8.1, 10 64-BIT
MINIMUM

The minimum configuration is:

PROCESSOR: 86 DUAL-CORE 2GHZ
RAM: 4GB
GRAPHICS HARDWARE: OPENGL 3 COMPATIBLE
DISK SPACE: 200MB
OPERATING SYSTEM: WINDOWS XP, VISTA, 7, 8.1, 10 64-BIT

2.21 Where can I find the latest update of a PiXYZ product?

When an update of a PiXYZ product is released (new installation executable), you can find it on the DOWNLOAD page of the website. Older versions can also be downloaded from this page.
When you purchase a license, the installation executable is automatically available in the MY DOWNLOADS tab in your account.

2.22 On how many computers can I install my PiXYZ product?

A license for a PiXYZ product is a “node-locked” license, meaning it is bound to a specific computer (each computer has a unique Computer ID). You cannot use the same license on multiple computers, at the same time (please see Terms & Conditions).
Although, if you already installed a purchased license on one computer, you can release this license (or uninstall it) to install it on a different computer. Be careful, this action of releasing is available only once per purchased license.

2.23 Can I release (or uninstall) a trial license?

No, you cannot release a trial license, and only one trial is allowed per computer (even if you create two different accounts you will not be able to install a trial license twice on the same computer).

2.24 How do I release a purchased license?

Remember that this action of releasing a license is available only once (see Question 2.22). There are two ways of releasing a license:

1) Online mode: your computer is connected to internet.

Please follow this step-by-step procedure:

1) In your PiXYZ application, go to the License manager (through the Help menu or the PiXYZ menu).
2) Enter your login and password (the same you used to create your account on the website). The PiXYZ license used on this computer is displayed. Click on the "Release" button.
3) Confirm you do want to release the license, or click Cancel otherwise. Remember this action is possible only once. If you click on the "Reinstall" button, it will reinstall the freshly released license, and you will not be able to release it anymore.
4) If you connect to your account on the website, in the License management, the license is now available for activation.
5) Start over the installation process (see Question 2.13) to install the license on another computer.

2) Offline mode: your computer is not connected to internet (for example your company blocks internet connection on your computer).

Please follow this step-by-step procedure:

1) In your PiXYZ application, go to the License manager (through the Help menu or the PiXYZ menu).
2) In the Offline activation tab, click on the "Generate release code".
3) Save a Release code (as a *.bin file).
4) Copy the Release code (*.bin file) and go to a computer with internet connection and connect to your account on www.pixyz-software.com.
5) Go to the LICENSE MANAGEMENT tab and to the row of the license you wish to release.
6) Click on the "Release" button and follow the procedure to upload the Release code (*.bin file) you just saved on your computer.
7) Once the procedure is over, your license is now ready to be activated again.
8) Start over the Installation process (see Question 2.13) to install the license on another computer.

2.25 How can I upgrade from PiXYZ STUDIO to PiXYZ STUDIO Editor?

If you wish to upgrade from PiXYZ STUDIO to PiXYZ STUDIO Editor before the end of your current license of PiXYZ STUDIO, it is possible. Simply get in touch with us and we will guide you through the procedure.
With the upgrade, you will pay the price of the upgraded version but only the remaining days of your current license.

2.26 Can you provide with floating licenses or perpetual licenses for PiXYZ STUDIO or PiXYZ REVIEW?

Yes, we can, but not from our online Store. If you are interested in purchasing floating licenses (to be managed through a server) or perpetual licenses, please get in touch with us at contact@pi.xyz.


3 - TRIAL
3.1 Is there a trial license available for all PiXYZ products?

A 7-day trial license is available for all PiXYZ products available on our online Store (PiXYZ REVIEW, PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unity and PiXYZ PLUGIN for Unreal Engine), but only once per computer.

To get more information about PiXYZ STUDIO and PiXYZ PIPELINE, please refer to the dedicated product page, or contact us at contact@pi.xyz.

3.2 How can I get a trial license for a PiXYZ product?

A trial license, valid for 7 days, is available for any PiXYZ product available on the Store of the website. You have several options to get it:

1) Connect to your account or create one.
2) Once connected, click on one of the "7-day trial version" buttons available on the Home page, on the product pages or on the Store.
3) Once you click on one of these buttons, a new license has been created and is available in the LICENSE MANAGEMENT tab of your account.
4) Please follow the instructions on the LICENSE MANAGEMENT tab to complete the installation of the trial version of your new PiXYZ product (you will be asked to download the installation executable or package and to activate your trial license). Or refer to the next question.

3.3 How can I get a trial license for PiXYZ STUDIO?

PiXYZ STUDIO is not yet available for purchase on www.pixyz-software.com, please contact us at contact@pi.xyz for more information.

3.4 How do I activate a trial license for a PiXYZ product on my computer?

The procedure is the same as for a purchased license: please follow Questions 2.8 to 2.11 to install your new PiXYZ product on your computer, and Question 2.13 to activate your trial license.

3.5 How long does the trial version of a PiXYZ product last?

A trial license lasts 7 consecutive days.
When you click on a "7-day trial" button on the website, you will be asked to confirm you do want to start your trial license. If you click Yes, the 7 days will start counting from this moment.

3.6 How many times can I install a trial license for a PiXYZ product on one specific computer?

You can install a trial license on the same computer only once (even if you create two different accounts, the license is created based on the Computer ID). If you already purchased a license for a specific PiXYZ product, you will not be able to install a trial for the same product.

3.7 My trial license validity ended, what should I do?

No need to run a new installation executable, just connect to your account and purchase a license on the online Store. Then activate it following the procedure explained at Question 2.13.

4.1 Where should I start with my new PiXYZ product?

To help you handle your new PiXYZ product, you have several ways to get started:

1) Go to the Download page of the website to download the Getting Started PDF file or Handling tutorial.
2) Visit our Youtube channel.
3) Visit the product pages of this website and the Powerful Features section to learn more about each PiXYZ product’s features.
4) Find a technical explanation for each function inside our products (Help menu).

4.2 I cannot import a specific file in the software

Please check in the list of formats supported by your PiXYZ product (go to the concerned product page and the Pricing section).
The format is supported but your file is still not importing? Please contact us at contact@pi.xyz.

4.3 I cannot find the information regarding my PiXYZ product I am looking for, what should I do?

If you have a specific question regarding the PiXYZ product you purchased and don’t find the answer here, please contact us at contact@pi.xyz, and we will get back at you in a flash!

4.4 Why is the format *.WIRE not direcly included in my PiXYZ product?

For legal reasons, a valid license for Autodesk Alias must be installed on the same computer on which you installed your PiXYZ product. Thus, the *.WIRE format is not directly included in your license.
